These lessons are designed for the early through late beginning student. We will establish proper form and fingering, embouchure (mouth position), and basic intonation and tone. Lessons will also focus on note and rhythm reading, beginning articulations and scales, basic expression and form, as well as instrument maintenance and hygiene. M400 — Beginning Woodwind Lessons
M401 — Intermediate Woodwind Lessons
At this level, woodwind students seek to bring forth musical growth. Students will expand their range and dexterity, through increasing their knowledge of style and articulation, notation, scales, characterization, form and general technique. Materials used are completely customized by the teacher. Goals will be set to maintain a practice regimen, and participate in CSMA recitals. Students will also be encouraged to participate in auditions,whether for scholarships, or for competitive groups.
M402 — Advanced Woodwinds
Advanced students are those that demonstrate the capacity to perform at higher levels of musicianship. Expand your range and abilities even further, by meeting clear goals established by you and your teacher. Lessons at this level require a strong practice ethic, and a passion for sharing your art. Students will participate in CSMA recitals and take advantage of performance opportunities.
M403 — Woodwind Chamber Group
Small ensembles and chamber groups offer a unique opportunity not available in large group playing. By limiting the number of performers to 4-8, students must be especially sensitive to proper intonation, balance, blend, expression and different musical styles.
