M102 — Piano Class
Perfect for starting piano study with a friend or family member, or as the next step after music readiness. Students are grouped according to age and/or ability level, working both independently and together to learn the basics of piano playing.
M105 & M106 — Piano I & II: Beginning and Intermediate Achievement
Introductory lessons, no set age requirement. Combines ease of motion, full expression, and finger-eye coordination with inspiring listening activities.
M107 — Piano III: Preparatory and Pre-college
Hour lessons. Late intermediate to advanced, in which the most exciting literature is set free by strategies that prevent injury and build performance authority. Special projects such as CD recording, organ or sacred music, ragtime, senior recital, or concerto audition are available according to the needs and desires of the student.
Teens & Adults / Piano & Organ
M111 — How to Play Pop, Jazz, Ragtime and Blues Piano
Do you like the old songs, the American songbook? Do you want to play country or jazz, ragtime or blues standards just for fun? Here is a chance to get back to the piano, for teens and adults who want to “have it your way.” We start with what you know, and take it from there. Learn to read a lead sheet and undertand chord symbols.

M200 — How to Write Original Music
Learn the basics of musical science (theory) by composing your own piece that can be performed. Not all composers live in Europe or Hollywood, and not all are dead! Some are very much alive in their own home towns. Intended for students who can read music.
M201 — Music Through the Ages
A music history survey spanning a thousand years, this course provides insight into the growth of music, and the people who make it possible. It is a three-month course for the serious musician to the casual music lover!
M203 — Discover the Composers of Berks County
Get ready for nonstop surprises as we look at one hundred years of published and internationally known composers from right where we live. Hear rare recordings of their music, performed by stars of records and film.
M204 — Music Theory One, Music Theory Two
Courses in the science of music, from tones and intervals up through figured bass and elements of counterpoint. We tailor theory and ear-training study to your purpose, whether it be preparation for college, review of past study, or training for doing arrangements and descants for ensembles.
Emerging Performers / Piano
All students are encouraged to perform in public. As study continues, certain artists will progress to a level that prepares them for opportunites to perform and be recognized at select community events throughout the year.
Organ Classes
M300 — Organ Level One
Covers beginning musicianship, keyboard basics, and intro to registration. Tailored to the individual, suitable for any age. No musical background required. Student should have an organ available for practice. No set length of study; advance at your own pace.
M301 — Organ Level Two
Continuing organ instruction for those with some experience, but desiring the “tricks of the trade” that dig into the resources of the instrument. Any combination of classical, popular or sacred music can be emphasized. No set length of study; advance at your own pace. Covers operation and terminology of pipe and electronic organs.
Keyboards Classes
M302 — Keyboard I: Casio, Yamaha and Other Makes
This class covers beginning note reading, basic hand position, and introduction to automatic chords and rhythms. The class is tailored to the individual and suitable for any age. Students are required to bring a keyboard to class. There is no length of study; advance at your own pace.
M303 — Keyboard II: Casio, Yamaha and Other Makes
This class is continuing instruction in song playing and keyboard setup for those possessing the basic skills acquired in Keyboard I. The class proceeds to in-depth arrangement and composition techniques, using the keyboard for original solo and ensemble work Classical, popular or sacred music can be emphasized. Students are required to bring a keyboard to class. There is no set length of study.
