Guitar Classes

The Community School of Music and the Arts offers guitar instruction taught from many different prespectives, by a diverse faculty of guitar instructors. Review the following approaches to guitar instruction or find a match for the style of guitar you are interested in learning, by contacting the school.

M900KU — Guitar Instruction (Beginner-Advanced)

Approach the guitar from the perspective of a singer/songwriter learning the instrument from an accompaniment viewpoint, and focusing on chord theory, strum styles, and finger picking. Lessons do not include “shredding” on the instrument In addition to learning techniques and chords from other’s music, you will be establishing beginner skills in the craft of songwriting. Performances at CSMA recitals are strongly encouraged, and other performance opportunities often arise.

M901KR — Guitar Lessons (Beginner-Advanced)

Students are taught to read music as well as learn correct hand positions, chords, chord construction, scales, transposing melody chord style, and many other components of guitar music styes.

M902JK — Guitar Lessons (Beginner-Advanced)

Learn a variety of music styles and all aspects of music theory.

M903JP — Guitar Lessons (Beginner-Advanced)

Learn music theory with major focus on Latin and Classical guitar.

M904 — Guitar Ensemble

Students are invited to join this ensemble group for opportunities to play in a variety of group settings which focus on rock, jazz, blues, latin, classical, and more.
