Private Instruction & Class Fees

Tuition

Tuition is payable during the first two weeks of each semester (see semester calendar). Tuition is calculated according to the instructors fee times the number of available teaching weeks in a given semester. This may vary each semester. Additional fees are applied to the base tuition calculated. A $15 discount will be issued to students who pay their semester tuition before the 1st day of the new Semester. Students entering into private instruction once the semester begins will have their lessons prorated according to the remaining weeks in the semester. Students are responsible for the entire semester tuition once registered for the semester. A credit will be issued for those students who withdraw in mid-semester, which may be applied to other instruction or classes. Monthly payment arrangements can be made for semester tuition for an additional service charge of $5 per month. Tuition not paid before the 1st day of the semester will not receive the $5 per month discount.

Withdrawals

Withdrawal from private instruction must be received in writing and is effective from the date that the notice is received in our main office. A credit will be issued for those students who withdraw in mid-semester.

Cancellations

Please consider your instructor’s time when needing to cancel a lesson. Many instructors travel from out of town to teach for us, and we want to utilize their time wisely. Please try to notify the school 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel a lesson. CSMA allows two cancellations per calendar year with a reasonable notice.

Missed Lessons

Missed lessons beyond the two permitted cancellations per year will be forfeited by the student. Make-up lessons are at the discretion of the instructor. Please check with your instructor regarding their individual policy regarding make-up lessons. Students and instructors may seek alternate times for make-up lessons which are mutually agreeable.

Lesson Cancellation by Instructor

If the instructor or the school cancels a lesson due to absence of the instructor or a holiday, the lesson will be credited or rescheduled.

Multiple Family Member Enrollment

Families with multiple enrollments will receive a discount for each additional member enrolled in instruction at CSMA. Please check with the main office for details.

Recital and Performance Dress Code

Each performance is special for both the performer and the audience. Recitals are about the music, what each individual student has learned, as well as stage presence. CSMA requests all students to wear appropriate clothing for their performances. Other details for recitals and performance opportunities may be obtained from your instructor.
